"Advancing Public Health Preparedness and Response: Challenges, Opportunities, and Ways Forward" is the theme of the Eighth EMPHNET Regional Conference which will be held in Amman, Jordan between October 22 and 25, 2023. The conference comes at an opportune time for public health professionals from all around the world to evaluate the current state of public health preparedness and examine the relevant challenges being encountered as the world continues to respond to COVID-19 and other public health events. The conference will initiate discussions to identify gaps, opportunities for growth, and the way forward to achieving global and national health security through stronger public health preparedness within countries’ health systems.
