The GEOHealth-MENA program is offering THREE full scholarships for a PhD in Epidemiology, with a focus on environmental and occupational health (EOH), at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the American University of Beirut (AUB). Applications are open now for the Spring semester of AY 2022-2023. Accepted applicants shall start in January 2023.
The PhD program in Epidemiology at FHS is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). The three PhD opportunities will be distributed as follows, one Egyptian, one Lebanese, and one Sudanese candidate. Applications thus are limited to these three nationalities.
Applicants should present evidence of high interest and a strong record in population health research. The accepted candidates will be engaged with ongoing research on refugee agricultural workers and will have the opportunity to spend six months of research training at Yale University and the University of Iowa in the US.
Interested applicants are encouraged to act immediately and submit their applications using AUB’s graduate online applications platform here before the extended deadline of December 15, 2022.
The accepted candidates will receive a full-ride scholarship (tuition fees, stipend, health insurance, travel, other). In addition to the university’s requirements, applicants are required to submit personal statements that clearly explain their interest in EOH and address their future plans for a career in this field.
