We are delighted to share with you the announcement for our upcoming Webinar titled “ Combating the Influenza Viruses” which we will be hosting on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 17:00 to 18:30 Jordan Local Time (UTC+3).

 

This webinar will provide a convening platform of expertise at the global, regional, and country levels for discussing the importance of influenza preparedness and response, and the effective vaccination programs in combating the annual influenza seasons.

 

The webinar session will focus on:

Highlighting the epidemiological and situational update on seasonal influenza trends in the Eastern Mediterranean region (EMR).
 Showcasing the Gulf Cooperation Countries’ (GCC) experience in responding to seasonal and pandemic influenza, emphasizing on the successes, challenges and lessons learned.
Providing evidence-based overview of the influenza vaccine’s advances and its role in reducing morbidity and mortality of the disease.
Recognizing the challenge of influenza vaccine hesitancy and suggesting evidence-based approaches to increase the influenza vaccine acceptance and uptake.

Ms. Margaret McCarron, Health Scientist and Epidemiologist at CDC Atlanta, United States.
