Announcing Upcoming Webinar in the EMPHNET WEBi Series

We are happy to share with you the announcement for the upcoming webinar titled “Investing in Public Health Workforce Capacity in the Eastern Mediterranean Region: Progress, Lessons, and Prospects” which EMPHNET will be hosting on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 17:00 to 18:30 Jordan Local Time (UTC+3).

 

This webinar will focus on investing in the public health workforce capacity within the context of the Eastern Mediterranean Region. It will cover the progress, lessons, and prospects of public health competence among the health workforces. It will reflect on the educational, health system, regulatory, and professional aspects pertinent to the topic. The webinar will also offer a space for questions and answers in addition to a summary of the main conclusions and recommendations for the ways forward.

 

Key discussion points include:

The achievements and progress aspects for strengthening the public health workforce capacity in the region.
The greatest challenges facing investing in public health workforce capacity in our region.
The strategies and innovations that should be implemented at regional and country level to overcome the current challenges.
The recommendations for further strengthening the public health workforce capacity in the spirit of ensuring effective public health practice that countries can adopt.

Anne Perrocheau, Epidemiologist at World Health Organization (WHO), HQ.
Elsheikh Badr, Chairperson Community Medicine Council of the Arab Board of Health Associations.
The session will be moderated by Dr. Faris Lami, Public Health Expert, Professor, Baghdad University, Iraq, and Dr Haitham Bashier, the Executive Director of the International Academy of Public Health (IAPH).
