EMPHNET in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Jordan Ministries of Health and Education (MoH) and (MoE), and United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has initiated a cross-sectional nationally representative survey on mental health and psychosocial problems among children and adolescents aged 8- 18 years in Jordan.
The aim of this study is to provide robust and comprehensive evidence on the mental health situation of children and adolescents in order to facilitate effective national policy-making in Jordan. The study was conducted in all of Jordan’s governorates, including public, private, UNRWA, and Zaatari camp schools, as well as non-formal education centers.
Currently, the data collection phase of this ongoing study has been successfully completed and the findings are anticipated to be disseminated in the upcoming months. They are also expected to help in guiding the decision-making process for more tailored interventions that align with the children's and adolescents' mental health needs in Jordan.
